Weekend Breakfasts: time to chill!!

Like any other working couple, only on weekends, do I and my wife have the time to enjoy proper & elaborate breakfasts...and she tries to innovate a lot during these two days and cook something different each weekend..and it is our time to chill and take it easy!!!

Today it was half english breakfast..consisting of double egg fry, sauteed mushrooms, capsicums , tomato and toasted brown bread...

I loved it, so here's to a great weekend guys!!!

Amritsar : a Foodie Trip

Last fortnight, we went to Amritsar...great time spent having some delicious food and visiting olden Temple, Jalianwala Bagh & Wagah Border

Recently, me (shooting star) and the husband (the surgeon), went off for a quick weekend getaway to neemrana fort palace, located in rajasthan 160 km from delhi.

It turned out to be quite a romantic getaway for us!! and a nice break from both our respective work schedules.

my first book

my first book, came out in mid - January this year.

I worked on it for more than 1 year , with a senior colleague and took most of my free time.

The book is targeted towards post graduate medical students, senior residents and grad medical students with surgical interests.

of busy work schedules, family time, bone chilling winters and some celebrating....!!!

its been quite a while either me or the husband has posted here...the reasons being many...i for one have my own blog and two other blogs..and i write quite frequently, but here mostly i write about our life together...and i have been busy with lots of other stuff , which is not related to this blog..so u guys can track my life on those!!!..

the husband on the other hand was busy with work.......he had winter vacations coming and before that there was lots of stuff to tie up at work, so he was in no frame of mind to post...

plus we are having lots of family over during the holiday season, first it was my sis-in-law with her kids , then my in laws joined us!!...and after she n her kids left, we managed to convince our in-laws to extend their stay...its always nice having them over here!!!

plus the horrible winters in Delhi this time, it was really really bone chilling, the only thing missing was snow...and I'm sure by 2-3 years, if the climatic change continues we'll have that too in Delhi!!!

in midst of all this, we ushered in the new year with lots of cakes n good food and celebrated my mum-in-law's birthday and my husband's birthday all in the month of January!!!!

all in all, quite a hectic social start to the new year!!

an uninterrupted extended weekend...

whooooooof!!..wat a relaxing engaging and un-interrupted weekend this has been..... as i prepare to join office tomorrow....i ponder on the rare weekend we have spent.....

lemme explain...after marriage..i think there have been many times when we got three days weekend...but usually my hubby got energency duty on on of these days....so inspite of having holidays, he had to go to the hospital or atleast had to take rounds..... and for me that was frustrating, coz i had planned trips to nearby places..and which then had to be cancelled...so i had given up hope that he will ever be free on such an extended weekend... but this time, we did get uninterrupted three day weekend...

and boy did we enjoy it....!!!

saturday was our shopping & eating out day......we went to cp ..looked around quite a bit into various shops..finally bought some nice saris for both our respective mums & then ate out at nice lounge bar that we were thinking of trying out for some time ..it turned out to be a nice experience..and i would recommend to anyone looking for good eating out options in cp..you can try out TAO , restaurant & lounge bar located in the inner circle....

sunday was sleep and booze day.......we slept off for most part of morning & after noon and in the evening stocked our fridge with lots of booze, mine was breezers and hubby went for beers..and had a nice evening at home having those!!!!

monday was family & friends day..went to visit my parents...as usual mum had a delicious lunch prepared for us.....ate quite a lot!!!...and in the evening, hubby & me met up with one of his close friends, who's also a doctor after a long time..and he had a nice time chatting with him...and i had nice time having cold coffee..coz i never understand when two doctors have a chat!!.......its so out of my sphere!!!...so i had chosen the hangout place which was barista in khan market......and while the two chatted, i had a relaxing time, sipping my coffee and enjoying the ambience....
so cheers to the extended weekend!!!
